Newfoundland

This breed is known for being relaxed and friendly. They are large dogs growing up to 71cm.

Newfoundlands are a part of the utility group of dogs. They were used in the 1700′s to pull nets ashore for the local fisherman and also for rescuing drowning people. They are water dogs.

Newfoundlands do tend to drool a bit so they are definitely not a breed to own if you don’t like being slobbered on!

Grooming is important especially when shedding in the spring. They have a dense undercoat.

I have chosen a picture of Annabelle to represent the breed. She is a darling rescue dog of my friends. They have put a lot of work into her to make her the beautiful girl she is today.
